The Odd Down History/Family Research Group presents SUMMER HOLIDAY, a lighthearted film for the whole family to enjoy.  Join us on Thursday 27 August at 11:00am at the Odd Down AFC & Social Club (Combe Hay Lane) for the film which starts at 11:00am.  Everyone is welcome; there is no charge but the purchase of drinks to snacks is most appreciated.

RESCHEDULED

 Please join the History Group for  a talk on the Somerset Coal Canal  which has been scheduled for Thursday 17 September at 11am.  Our speaker is Mr. Derrick Hunt.  The event will take place at the Odd  Down Football Club Cafe & is free of charge; no booking is required and everyone is welcome.  Please support our venue with the purchase of a drink or snack.

ODD DOWN HISTORY EXHIBITION OPENING NIGHT

Join members of the Odd Down History Group for the opening night of their exhibition on the history of Odd Down and its people.  Mark your diary for Thursday 23 July at 6:00pm.  The culmination of months of work; this is the groups's biggest project to date.  The venue is the Museum of Bath at Work on Julian Road.  Exhibition runs from July  through to September.  Usual charges apply; residents can use their Discovery Cards for a discount

OCTOBER GENERAL MEETING: Please mark your diary &  join the BBRA for our October General Meeting which will be held Thursday, 8 October at St. Luke's Church, Wellsway, Bath (time TBA).  We will be hosting Guy Hodgson, former Chair of Walk/Ride Bath & current Bath representative for the national "20 is Plenty" Campaign who will be in conversation with Mark Shelford, former area Ward Councillor and immediate past Police & Crime Commissioner on the question "Bath: England's First 20mph City?".   This event is free of charge but must be booked in advance using the Booking Online page of this site or Eventbrite.  Booking opens in September.   We hope you will be able to join us!

Updates to the DOTT MicroMobility Scheme, Road Design Program, Coffee with the Cops, One Amazing Neighbour page,  general recruitment , the initiative for a pedestrian crossing at the Chelwood Kissing Gate on the Wellsway, the return of Forest of the Imagination, a proposed pedestrian gate into the Green Space from Wellsway, a Zebra crossing into the Sports ground with possible companion works in the area, proposed 20mph limit in Bear Flat, the lower Bloomfield splinter group and the status of the Methodist Church & Hall.

Community News

MidBloomfield Drinks Party: join us  for our next event which will be held Friday, 31 July at the newly refurbished Devonshire Arms at 6:00pm.  Simply turn up, purchase the drink of your choice & join us; you will be made most welcome!

Odd Down History Group meets at 2:00pm on the third Thursday of the month at the Odd Down Sports Ground Cafe.

Bloomfield "Coffee with the Cops": our Police colleagues are taking a well deserved break but will return on Wednesday 29 July from 10-11am at the Odd Down Sports Ground Cafe to discuss all your policing issues.  Have a question but can't attend?  Send an email with your question to bloomfieldbathra@gmail.com & we'll ask on your behalf and send you the answer!

Crafternoon: an open crafting session at the Odd Down Sports Ground the second Tuesday of the month from 2-3pm.  Everyone welcome !

St Luke's Church Coffee Morning:  Join your neighbours for  coffee & homemade cake every third Friday from 10-12p.  This is not a religious service but rather warm, friendly place for the community to gather & chat.  Each session will feature a different charity; a donations basket is available at the exit.  The next session will be Friday the 31 of July.   Everyone is welcome.

Dorothy House Breavement Help Point:  a community based program where all bereaved people are welcome to come & meet and talk with others who have suffered loss in an informal & supportive setting.  Odd Down Sports Ground Cafe, the first & third Monday of the month from 2-4pm.
